Due to government restrictions imposed to combat the COVID-19 outbreak, the organisers were unable to stage the 2021 event in the usual format and instead invited walkers to “Walk For Wards Wherever You Are”
The Rotary Club of Wilton made a contribution of £1,400 to the funds raised by the event in lieu of its usual role of marshalling it.
Walk for Wards will be returning to Wilton House in 2022 when Wilton Rotary Club hopes to be marshalling this event again.
The Stars Appeal Walk For Wards is traditionally one of the largest fundraising events in our area and in recent years has consistently attracted over 2,000 walkers raising over £100,000 annually for Salisbury District Hospital’s charity. We are proud to have been marshalling the event since its inception over 10 years ago. Click here for more information on this hugely popular, annual sponsored walk around the beautiful Wilton Estate by kind permission of Stars Appeal President and Honorary Wilton Rotarian, the Earl of Pembroke. In 2022 we hope to be again mustering a team of around 30 marshals to direct the walkers around the three routes on offer and ensure the safety of all participants.
